Peter Edward Dingeldey, age 69, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 in Duluth, Georgia. Pete was born Monday, October 18, 1943 in Buffalo, New York to Edward and Kathryn Dingeldey of Orlando, Florida.
He graduated from Florida State University and later received his MBA from Harvard University. Pete later graduated from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Captain in 1996 after 32 years of service. Pete worked in civilian life as an Executive Recruiter for many years in New York and Los Angeles. He recently served as the Minister of Administration at Peachtree Christian Church from 2002 and retired in 2011. In 2012, he became a member of the Old Guard of the Gate City Guard of Atlanta, serving as Chaplain. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, reading, following world news and politics.
Pete is survived by his Wife: Beatrice Dingeldey; Children: Karen Weiss, Amy Heskett and Matt Dingeldey; Grandchildren: Andrew Heskett and Dylan Heskett. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Edward and Kathryn Dingeldey. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Pete will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Peachtree Christian Church 1580 Peachtree Street, NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30309. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
