Robert “Bob” Allyn Speltz – After suffering with the cruel illness of Parkinson’s Disease, Robert “Bob” Allyn Speltz entered into eternal comfort at Peachtree Christian Hospice on May 18, 2016 at the age of 80. Through his battle he would always say, “It’ll be okay” and “Trust in the Lord”.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lorene and Earl P. Speltz. He is survived by his devoted wife, Victoria Elizabeth Speltz. They were married in Minneapolis, MN on August 3, 1957 and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Bob is lovingly remembered by his children, Lori & her husband Jeff Deremer of North Port, Florida, Jesse & his wife Sara Speltz of Roswell, Georgia and Nicole & Tom Topleski of Lawrenceville, Georgia. Bob has six grandchildren: Anthony Allyn Speltz, Elizabeth Ann Topoleski, John Robert Topoleski, Nicholas Thomas Topoleski, Davis Robert Speltz and Anna Kathleen Speltz. Bob has one brother, Clarence Speltz of Rochester, Minnesota.
Bob was born in Wabasha, Minnesota on September 28, 1935. He graduated in 1953 from Lourdes High School in Rochester, Minnesota and was known as “lightning”, for his speed on the track team. He was also voted in High School to have “The Most Contagious Laugh Ever Heard” which held true his entire life. He entered the Air Force, where he served 4 years. Then worked for AT&T, and retired after 35 years of service, in 1989, as a Telecommunications Engineer.
There will be a private service at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
