Michael Lucio Russo

Michael Lucio Russo, 73, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away on October 5, 2016, after a brief illness.Michael was born in Elizabeth, NJ on December 26, 1942. He graduated from the Marist School, Class of 1959, at the age of 16.  He then continued his education at the University of Notre Dame and then went on to graduate from Emory University School of Law in 1964.After earning his J.D., Michael spent three years with the US Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps during the Vietnam War.  Most of his nearly 52 years practicing law were spent in private practice. After “retiring” he then decided to take a position at Fort Benning, Georgia with the U.S. Department of Defense getting soldiers affairs in order, a position he enjoyed.Michael was preceded in death by his father, Lucio Russo, and mother, Viola Russo.  He is survived by his children, Michael Russo Jr., April Richert, and Joe Russo; son-in-law Bart Richert; daughter-in-law Vim Russo; grandchildren Will, Maddie, Kate and Finn Richert, Violet, Natalie and Joey Russo.  He is also survived by his brother, Matthew Russo and nephews Matthew Jr. and Wesley Russo.Burial will happen at a later date in Arlington, Virginia at Arlington National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations my be given to the American Cancer Society.
