Mrs. JoAnn Chason Fischer, age 70, of Senoia, went to be with Jesus of February 14, 2017.
Mrs. Fischer was born in Tallahassee, FL, on March 10, 1946, to the late Lloyd and Remell Chason. Her life was filled with the love she had for family, friends, and the Lord. She reminded her family how much she loved them each and every time she saw them. JoAnn was the love of Lee’s life. Her sons were always up for the next great adventure with their mom. She was always there for her grandson, Cody. She enjoyed their Saturday dates to Wal-Mart and Waffle House. She loved to paint and draw with her grandson, Durran. She enjoyed the company of her daughters-in-law, who she affectionately called “Vinegar”. She loved being whisked away by her siblings to the mountains. She had a sympathetic heart, especially for the depressed Pine Mountain monkey she would visit numerous times. She was blessed with her neighborhood ladies group, who were her dear friends. She loved all kinds of music, from Chubby Checker to Southern Gospel. She never wanted to leave her family but she had a great longing and love for Heaven. It was fitting that Mrs. Fischer went home to be with the Lord on Valentine’s Day because her life was all about love.
Mrs. Fischer is preceded in death by her three brothers: Buck, Lloyd, and Sammy Chason.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years: Lee Fischer; her sons and daughters-in-law: David and Vicki Fischer of Newnan and Brian and Jennifer Fischer of Senoia; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Katie Goodman of Fayetteville, Lois and Mike Johnson of Cherry Log, and Christine Chason of Concord; grandsons: Durran Fischer and his wife Nakecia of Germany, and Cody Fischer of Senoia; great-granddaughter: Ava Fischer of Newnan. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Mrs. Fischer will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church, 825 Ebenezer Church Road, Sharpsburg, GA.

Lee, David, Brian, and family, I am so sorry for you loss. But I know, as you know, that Mrs JoAnn is now at peace and free of suffering. You will be with her again. I wanted to come to the memorial service but I am fighting an upper respiratory infection. I am praying for God to heal your hearts and give you all peace. I love you.

I am still numb and miss her so much everyday. Something will be said and I will say that sounds just like Jo or I need to let Jo know about that. Still feels unbelievable that I will never see her again in this life. We can’t joke and kid and threaten to slap each other when the other one says something really stupid!. Like, “Are you mad at Me”. Famous for that one. I know so many lives have been changed by her passing and while we try to learn to live without her, she is in God’s arms, in peace, with a new body, but with the same innocence, laugh and unconditional love she always shared with everyone. Hopefully catching Mom and Dad, Sam, Buck and Lloyd up on all the family drama. Or just plain gone fishing. Whatever, she is doing I know she is so happy and carefree and healthy and loving being in the presence of our GOD. I miss you dear Sweet Sister and will see you Soon. Lets all be strong for her! Love You All!.
