Walter loved camping when he was a kid; he camped in a tent trailer pulled by a station wagon. He wanted to see beautiful sights of America. Walter was a kind and wonderful man. I had the privilege of working with him over the years, as he represented one of our major Diesel engine suppliers. I will always remember him as a very special and beautiful person. The very first Americans would say, with his passing we have lost a true human being.

Among other things, Walter was a talented guitarist and music lover.
I will always remember how he inspired me to get back into my playing and singing, which I continue to this day.
He had a wonderful sense of humor, which he shared with me on our nearly weekly golf outings, too. (I usually offered him much material during these outings…)
And I will always remember what an amazing chef he was. They say you could tell the love of a person through how they treat their guests. Well, he was an amazing host and Naoko is an amazing hostess! The Thanksgiving spread he laid out was the best I have ever experienced.
And his culinary skill went on to his growing his own grapes and crafting his own wines. I loved looking out my window at his vines and looked forward to sampling his wines,
It has been a number of years since I moved away to CA, but I will also cherish the visit Walter and Naoko paid us here.
Even over the years and distance, Walter was always diligent in keeping up, sending many emails showing his vineyard and sharing his life and times.
He will be missed.
Sending love and condolences, Naoko.

The holidays just won’t be the same without our friend Walter. Rie and I were honored guests for his fine Thanksgiving dinner more than once, and I will always cherish the Christmas parties when Bobby and I played music for all his wonderful friends. Walter and Naoko have so many friends, which is a testament to their humanity. Naoko, we will be there for you if you ever need us. Rest In Peace, Walter. We love you and will always miss you.

Loved our chats at El Potrillo. You were a kind man, gentle heart and was always full of fascinating stories. I remember when I first met you at the bank. It was a pleasure to work with you. Walter indeed had a variety of hobbies and interests. He will be missed by all. Rest in peace dear friend. My sincere condolences to his family.

I worked with Walter for many years at Deutz Corporation. He actually was my boss. He was a very nice man but his happiest moments were when he married Naoko. May he rest in peace.

I worked with Walter for 18 years at DEUTZ. He was always so very kind and thoughtful. He and Naoko would often bring back souvenirs for my daughter from their travels, especially from Japan, which she loved.
But more than that, I could always depend on Walter for a kind word and gentle smile. We had a mutual like for gardening and nature, and we often traded tips and insights. Walter was a good friend to me, and I will miss him greatly.

Walter was my friend. Really, really good friend.
My first meeting with Walter was about 10 years ago at our mutual friend’s house party. It was there I met Walter and Naoko. Ever since then, Midori and I have been real close friends.
What I remember most about Walter, he was a kind hearted and strong minded in a very sincere way.
And he was an excellent chef. When Walter and Naoko invited us for dinner, Walter would be the chef and he would prepare us a dinner starting from the scratch. We are surely going to miss his wonderful cooking.
Also, Walter has a wonderful collection of model trains and train sets. Model trains are built to look like exact replicas of the real thing. He even has a 60 years old train that his father gave to him. Walter maintained/serviced all of them, every one of them still runs great. And he enjoyed train sets so much that every Christmas season, he had them displayed under the Christmas tree.
But sadly for me (with a smile), from now – whenever I see a Christmas tree with a train set, I’ll be thinking of you, Walter.
With Heartfelt Sympathy and love to you, Naoko.
