Mrs. Irene Eva McDonald Stout, 93, formerly of North Little Rock, AR, and Union City, GA, passed away on Thursday June 22, 2017 in Fayetteville, GA.
She was born near Pollard, AR on August August 24, 1923. Mrs. Stout had been a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a member of First Baptist Church in North Little Rock, AR. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Henderson and Jessie Mae Keas McDonald of Piggott, AR; her husband, Edgar Marshall Stout, Sr. of North Little Rock, AR; her sister, Opal Mae McDonald Nicholas of Pollard, AR; and two brothers, Robert McDonald of Clare, MI and John McDonald of Detroit, MI. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Prince of Peachtree, GA; her son, Marshall Edgar Stout of Scottsboro, AL; four grandchildren, Kari Lee Prince Adams of Peachtree, GA, Marshall E. Stout, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN, Michael E. Stout of Apex, NC, and Mackenzie E. Stout of Murfreesboro, TN; and six great grandchildren, Megan Blanchard of Peachtree, GA, Savannah Stout, Maddox Stout, Darby Stout, and Hadley Stout of Chattanooga, TN, and Jorja Stout of Murfreesboro, TN. Mrs. Stout graduated from Piggott High School and from Draughons’ Business School in Little Rock, AR.
She worked as a secretary at Lakewood Methodist Church in North Little Rock AR for 13 years, then worked overseas as a Foreign Service secretary for the U.S. Department of State for 16 years in locations: Santiago, Chile; Manila, Philippines; Brasilia, Brazil; Panama City, Panama; The Hague in the Netherlands; and Freetown, Sierra Leona.
Graveside services will be held at Edgewood Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock, AR and lead by her grandson Mackenzie Stout on a date yet to be determined.
Interment will be at Edgewood Memorial Gardens in North Little Rock, AR where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
