Bonnie Rigdon Buchanan, known as “Mema” to many, was born December 24, 1948 at Martin Army Hospital in Chattahoochee County, Georgia to the late Laura Kline Greer Rigdon and Peter George Rigdon. Bonnie worked as an administrative assistant with East Alabama Mental Health Center for many years while raising her four daughters. She was known as the “Community Mom” for all the local children and friends of her daughters for many years. Her house was always full of the laughter and joy of children which she admired. She was well known for her famous potato salad and her dessert soufflés. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and adored hydrangeas and daisies. Her biggest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her wonderful children and precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
