Kent you were one of the most selfless people I ever knew. Always smiling and genuinely cared about people. You were a real friend to my family and I. The house on the hill is so lonely looking without you there. I know Miss Nancy met you at the gates. I will never forget you.

I love and miss you! I am so thankful for your caring and loving heart. You took me in like so many others and cared for me and my son when I needed someone. You and your family are my family. I know you missed Nancy so much and are glad to be reunited with her. You both feel so far away right now. Although one day we will see each other again. Until that day Rest In Peace and watch over all of us you left behind.

I remember when my mama’s house burned down, you walked up to her and said “here take this , this is all I have. I hope it will help you”. You gave her 50 dollars. That lifted my spirit and gave me hope and made me think things were going to be alright. That gesture you made spoke volumes to me. You were only 15 years old and made a grown man move. We love you and this family will always remember you.

I still miss having Mr. Kent up on the hill near me. He and Nancy were true friends, more life family really. The fact that I still think of them daily is a testament to what kind of people they were…. special, generous, neighborly, and as big hearted as it comes. Sending a prayer for heaven that if possible they know they are and were loved.
