Ms. Lettie Ruth Newsome, age 86, of McDonough, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 3, 2021.

Ms. Newsome was born on March 5, 1935 in Adele, Georgia to the late Mack and Nellie George. She grew up in Adele alongside two sisters and three brothers. Ms. Newsome retired from Delta Airlines after 30 years of service. She was a longtime resident of McDonough, GA.

Ms. Newsome was a sweet mama and nana to her children and grandchildren. She was the matriarch who lovingly cared for her family. Ms. Newsome was a wonderful lady and a fabulous cook. She was a born-again Christian. Memories of Ms. Newsome will be forever cherished by her family and friends.

Along with her parents, Ms. Newsome was preceded in death by sister, Weida Mercker, and brothers: Warren, Clifford and Maurice George. She is survived by her daughter Toni Newsome of McDonough, son and daughter-in-law Tommy and Ladon Newsome of Ellijay, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and sister Lunelle Broadaway of Adele.
