Timothy D. Collins, beloved father, son and brother passed away on Monday, January 5, 2022. Timothy was born in Columbus, Georgia on December 17, 1983, to Gerald and Sheryl Collins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gerald Collins, Sr., Martha Kelley Collins, Clifton Pitts, Josephine Harrison Pitts and his aunt, Deborah Poole.

He is survived by his only child, a son, Gabriel and Gabriel’s mother, Nellie, his parents, Gerald and Sheryl Collins, aunts; Rochelle Burnette, Cindy and Don Cotton, Terri Pitts, and S. Wayne Poole, brothers; Jaron (Cori) Collins of Villa Rica, Georgia (their children; Brice, Brayden, Macyn, Finley, Case and Nolan) and Aaron (Jihye) Collins of Fairhope, Alabama (and nephews Walker and Wyatt), cousins; Rhonda Poole (Keith) of Hendersonville, Kentucky, Amber Downs, Ashley Cotton, Aura Johnson, Adam Cotton Samantha Sobasky, John Daniel Sobasky, Dawn Burnett and Matt Burnett all of Columbus, Georgia, as well as numerous second cousins.

Tim was a graduate of Jordan Vocational School in 2002. Having spent many days on the ball field in his youth, he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. Tim was very patient and had a kind soul. He was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back. He spent his weekends with his son Gabriel, fishing and him father-son life lessons. Tim enjoyed working on cars and engines, and was self employed doing landscaping for several long-time customers. He oved gardening and had a passion for growing a variety of vegetables and very hot peppers. Timothy was a blessing to have shared time with and he will be deeply missed.

Due to Covid and Omicron, only immediate family will be attending the funeral.

    I sure am going to miss you, man. Out of all of my cousins, you were my closest one. We’ve been through thick and thin together since we were kids. I could always count on my cousin, Tim to pick me up for school and take me with him wherever he went. You always introduced me to everyone even though I was younger. We got into our fair share of trouble together but we always had fun. Then we grew up and I watched you become a dad who cared deeply about his son. I couldn’t go five minutes around you without hearing about him. I witness a calm take over your life after he was born. Where you used to give me a hard time about my decisions, now you wouldn’t. You were the only one who believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. I still grab my phone to call you and talk to you about the new Georgia recruits because my mind won’t accept that you aren’t here anymore. When Georgia won the National Championship I know you were the happiest person in heaven and I’ll talk to you all about it whenever I get there. Sure am gonna miss you cuz.

    My fondest memory is when l took Tim to Six Flags and his curious and excited face when we rode the Ninja roller coaster… l loved his always respectful manners and his laughter with us. I’ll miss him most when a big Bulldogs game is on, because he was a frequent and welcome supporter in my home, never knocked on the door, just came right on in. He was and is my family, and I’ll love him always. Save me a seat in heaven in front of the game TimTim, I’m gonna be seeing you one day!
