Brenda Kay Grimes Dugard, age 74 of Columbus passed away Sunday, May 8th, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones at St. Francis Hospital.

Brenda was born November 2, 1947 to the late Frank and Ella Elizabeth Grimes of Columbus.  She married the love of her life, Jerry Len Dugard Sr. on February 12, 1965 and were married for 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry L Dugard; brothers, Jerry and Kenneth Grimes; her nephews, Tony, David and Jason Grimes and Stephen Dugard; niece, Vickie Dykes; her sisters-in law, Patsy Grimes McGregor and Sheila Grimes.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Len Dugard Jr.; daughter Sherri Michelle Hickman / Jokisaari; grandchildren, Kristin and Corey Hickman and great grandchild Beckham Steinhorst; brother, Derrell (Sheree) Grimes; nieces and nephews, Iris Morris, Carmen Grimes, Tammy Meyers, Wendy Jordan, Ricky Baxley, Angie Bechdolt, Tim, Tonya and Andrea Shelton and Charlie Dugard; sister-in-law, Judy Dugard Woods and many many great nieces and nephews, cousins and more cousins.

Brenda was loved by all who met her. She loved to read and her favorite authors were Fern Micheals, John Grisham and Steven King. She also loved to watch scary movies, Sci-fi, westerns, Dr Phil and Golden Girls. She loved to play games, especially Bingo, Bunko, LRC and going to the casino.  She loved ALL animals and anything shiny.

Mom will be sorely missed by all her met her for her bright eyes, big smile and infectious laugh.

In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to her favorite charities, Shriners Hospital, Salvation Army, Eagles Lodge PAWS or Animal Ark.

A private memorial was held in her honor.
