Amanda Starr Jernigan, 31 of Columbus passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 in Columbus. Memorial services are being planned and will be announced on this web page.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 17th, 6:30 pm at Cooper Creek Park, Columbus, Georgia. If you have questions about the service, please contact the family.

Amanda was born October 24, 1990 in Columbus the daughter of Walter Richard Jernigan and Diane Jernigan. She was employed at Waffle House on Bradley Park Drive. Amanda had lived in Columbus all of her life and enjoyed visiting casinos and most of all loved her family especially her nephew, Jody and her niece, Emerlynn who she was helping raise. Amanda was preceded in death by her father, Walter Richard Jernigan, her grandparents, JB and Ethelene Adams and a brother-in-law, David Mitchum.

Survivors include her wife, Amy Jernigan; her mother, Diane Jernigan; her siblings, Kelly Mitchum, Richard Jernigan (Tonya Martin), Shaun Jernigan (Sarah), Ricky Jernigan (Tobi Steen), Aaron Shoup and a host of nieces and nephews.

Georgia Cremation – Columbus is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Amanda u was my baby girl and will always be my baby girl. I will love and miss you till the day i die. You was only 31 way to soon to go. You was a beautiful baby and a beautiful young lady and a beautiful woman. I wish you was still with us. Rip baby girl i love and watch down on us from time to time.

    Aunt Amanda your nephew in law Crystal and I will miss you so much. I loved your cooking when we stayed with you. Also anytime I couldn’t do a man’s job you come to the rescue. I was shocked when savannah woke us up. Didn’t want these news I guess God was ready but we were not. Watch over us spread ur wings we will all meet someday I’ll continue to help with our family love you.

    Amand you were to our family a gift you loved our children like they were your blood and treated them very well . Amanda loved kids and many call her aunt . Thank u for loving my boys and taking time with them. You we’ll definitely be missed and forever in our hearts fly high and give my love to my mom and Eddie rest easy baby girl gone to soon but never forgotten
