Richard Wymon Sheffield, 71, of Waverly Hall, Georgia passed away August 4, 2023.
Mr. Sheffield was born March 5, 1952 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Frances Louise Hancock Sheffield and Wymon Grady Sheffield. He was the owner and operator of Automotive Network in Columbus for twenty-seven years until they closed the business in January of 2023. He also traveled and taught automotive diagnostic and repair for many companies. He was considered the Doctor of Automobiles. He and his wife, Sandi, were married for 46 years at the time of his passing and he adored her above everything else.
Mr. Sheffield was an avid dove hunter and always had his faithful birddog, Choc, by his side. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing and was an avid reader of books. He is preceded in death by his parents and special aunt and uncle, Rex and Grace Helms.
He is survived by his wife, Sandi Sheffield of Waverly Hall, Georgia; children, Angi (Jack) Crabtree of New Mexico and Josh (Kathy) Sheffield of Arizona; grandchildren, Tony Sheffield of Texas, Morgan Sheffield of California, Jesse Crabtree of New Mexico, and Trevor Sheffield of Arizona; siblings, John (Sandra) Sheffield of Hamilton, Georgia and Nancy (Bucky) Barefoot of Columbus, Georgia; and a host of extended family and friends.
