With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ann Baggett Willet, who gracefully departed from this world on March 30, 2024, to join the angels in heaven. Ann was born on January 31, 1950, in Louisburg, North Carolina, to her loving parents Howard and Peggy Baggett.
From her early years, Ann was captivated by the beauty industry. Starting as a teenager, she swept hair in a salon, a humble beginning that blossomed into a lifelong passion for styling hair. Her talent and dedication earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as one of the Top 10 Hairdressers in Atlanta. Ann’s joy came from transforming her clients’ hair into works of art, forging deep connections with them over the years.
Beyond her professional success, Ann was an embodiment of creativity. Her artistic flair illuminated every aspect of her life, whether it was decorating for holidays, cooking delectable meals, or hosting gatherings for family and friends. She had an eye for art, adorning her home with pieces collected from festivals and her own occasional paintings.
Ann’s zest for life was matched only by her love for music and dancing. She found joy in every beat of her favorite songs and never missed an opportunity to join in on the dance floor. Her infectious energy and warm spirit touched everyone she met, and her mantra, “Dance, just Dance!” echoed through her life.
Among Ann’s cherished places, the beach at Destin, FL held a special spot in her heart. The sun, sand, and waves brought her endless happiness and serenity. It is there where her ashes will be forever joined with the ocean.
But above all her achievements, Ann’s greatest pride and joy was her granddaughter, Emma. She adored Emma beyond measure, always reminding her that she loved her “to the Moon and Back.” Ann’s spirit will forever watch over Emma, a testament to her boundless love and devotion.
Ann Baggett Willet leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and vibrant memories. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth. As we bid farewell to our beloved Ann, let us remember her with joy and gratitude for the light she brought into our lives. May she rest in eternal peace, forever dancing among the stars.
In addition to Ann’s passing, she was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Peggy Baggett; her father, Howard Baggett; and her brothers, Chris Baggett and Mike Baggett. Ann is survived by her sister, Charleen Baggett; her devoted son, Jason Whitley; her doggie, Stella; and her granddaughter, Emma Whitley, whom she treasured beyond measure.
