Chuck was born on June 21, 1946 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Rudy and Alice Thibaudeau. Their first son died at 5 months, so when bouncing healthy Chuck came along, he was the apple of their eye.
Chuck had two younger sisters he adored, Diane and Sherry. He loved being a big brother. When he was 5, the family loaded into a station wagon called a “woody” and headed out to seek their life across country in Southern California. Chuck had an idyllic childhood found often hanging around his lifelong best friend, his cousin, Bill.
Chuck had a paper route he was fond of and loved to go back and drive around that route and tell stories about the patrons he remembered. He spent many hours with Bill surfing the waves of Southern California!
Chuck was a CAR guy. He loved corvettes and once he bought one at a young age, he was never without one again. Chuck loved to tell stories of growing up in his dad’s gas station, where he learned more about life than fixing cars! One day when Chuck was working in the gas station, a familiar customer came by and asked Chuck what his plans were for after graduating high school. He said he would likely work in his Dad’s gas station and take over one day.
Turns out the gentleman was an executive at Trans World Airlines and saw something in Chuck. He went in and talked to Chuck’s Dad. They both came out smiling and Chuck was offered a shot at a management trainee position, and this guy could get him up to bat if he was interested. They also paid for his college.
While in TWA’s management program, he also worked part time as a police officer. He talked about loving that job until his dying day. In 32 years TWA took him to San Francisco, St. Louis twice, New York City, and Kansas City
where he met his bride, Denise. She was also an airline employee and they traveled the world together.
Chuck had the biggest and kindest heart of anyone you wanted to meet. His intelligence and humor were amazing. He loved his life and he loved people – they all loved him right back. He did things for people nobody else will ever know about.
He was his wife’s knight in shining armor everyday of their 32 years together. They had that special kind of love.
Chuck left this Earth not wanting a soul to feel sorry for him as his life was wonderful, “almost like a fairy tale”, he would say, except a few dark days life has in store for us all. We are so grateful for his life!
A service for Chuck will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, GA at 11am on Monday, November 18th., with lunch to follow. The family asks that guests wear island attire as Chuck would have preferred.
The Thibaudeau Family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation-Fayetteville.

Chuck was a wonderfully positive influence in my early career – always encouraging and jovial. He and Denise made me and my team feel like friends and not just coworkers.
