Frances Mae Varano, 91, of Newnan, Ga, passed away on January 30, 2025.
Frances was born November 19, 1933, in Honolulu, HI to Paul and Emma(Davis) DeHarne. She grew up in Honolulu alongside her parents and her six sisters, but later lived at Griffiss Air Force base in Rome, NY before settling in
Peachtree City, GA.
Frances began a career as a clerical secretary and went to work for Rome Health hospital in Rome, NY where she worked for over 30 years. Frances Mae was raised a devout Catholic, attending church with her family. She was a member of the Rome Bocce team and Bowling team. She took a keen interest in both bocce and bowling, and thoroughly both sports. She spent the last several years of her life cooking for those she loved and taking exceptional care of her home. Frances was an giving woman with a heart of gold and she would give the shirt off of her back to anyone in need.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents: Paul and Emma DeHarne; her sisters: Thelma, Hazel, Joyce, Dorothy, and Ruth; her daughter: Terri Cole; and her granddaughter: Tania Lynn Cole. She is survived by her daughters: Toni Deseve of Merritt Island, FL, Lorri Hall of Peachtree City, GA, Angela Van Arsdale (William) of Roseland, NJ, and Kim Castles of North Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren: Lee Deseve, Ron Cole, Kelli Cole, Dain Heath, Amanda Joy Besse, Aron Hall, Ashley Tashman, Tina Tallerino, Ryan Van Arsdale, Brittany Van Arsdale, Megan Castles; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister: Jacqua Hippa; her fur babies: Remy and Cougar; and a host of very
close friends.
