Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Entrepreneur
Evelyn M. Roebuck, a vibrant and tenacious spirit, passed away on April 15, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. Born in Germany, Evelyn brought her lively energy and passion to every endeavor and person she encountered throughout her life.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Lenz Allen, and Leonard J. Roebuck, as well as her brother, Johnny Roebuck. She leaves behind her son, Michael J. McCrea (Angela); two treasured grandsons, Tristan McCrea, and Kellen McCrea; her dear aunt, Edith Lenz; and numerous cousins and friends who will all cherish her memory.
A lifelong learner, Evelyn earned her master’s degree from Columbus State University, a testament to her determination and drive. She applied her intelligence and creativity as a lifelong entrepreneur, pursuing ventures with boldness and resilience.
Evelyn’s zest for life was reflected in her hobbies and personality. She was an avid poker player, always ready for a challenge and a good laugh. She also had a knack for finding the best bargains, which brought her great joy. Those who knew her best will remember her as someone who never met a stranger, a quality that endeared her to everyone she encountered. Above all, her greatest love was for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
A private celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Columbus Hospice in her memory.
Evelyn’s legacy of love, determination, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Georgia Cremation-Columbus assisted the family with the arrangements.

Evelyn was a precious spirit I had the pleasure of getting to know in the last year. She was steadfast in her respect for human life like myself, although the injustices saddened her greatly. Hopefully her grandchildren will carry on where she left off. I wondered why I had not seen her online. I am heartbroken that such a loving spirit has left this earth. We need more kind souls like her. I will pray my angels surround this remarkable woman. I hope her family knows the impact she had on those she only knew on social media. Very few in this world care about the lives of others that she did. I will feel her immense loss and offer my heartfelt condolences to her family. God truly added an angel to the heavens.

Ruhe in Frieden liebe Evelyn!

Mrs. Evelyn was my number one fan that followed me everywhere when I song Karaoke. Her and Tammy was always there to hear me sing. May God rest her soul . Well loved and respected.

This absolutely breaks my heart hearing this! We last chatted around the middle of February, and she said she would come for a visit if/when she felt up to it. So sorry we didn’t get to visit before she left us! 😢 I’ll miss our lengthy chats! She had been a good friend and a great listener for the better part of 25-30 years!
🙏 RIP Ms. Evelyn 🙏
