Margaret Diane Pfleger, age 69 of the Melody Lakes Community of Waverly Hall, GA, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her residence.

Diane was born November 26, 1955, in Columbus, GA, the daughter of the late Edwin Lawrence Nay and Nina Juanita Holmes Nay. She graduated from Jordan Vocational High School in Columbus and later earned a bachelor’s degree. As a military wife, she traveled extensively. While living in Germany, she was instrumental in forming the “Soldiers and Sailors Adopt-A-Child Christmas Program” for the orphaned or needy children in the area. Back in the U. S., she worked Civil Service at Ft. Benning, holding various jobs such as Diversity Inspector, OSHA Inspector and lastly, manager of the Army & Air Force Exchange on post.

Diane was a member of Melody Lakes Baptist Church. She also enjoyed fishing and participating in Karaoke and Bingo at the VFW in Cataula. She especially loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kirk Nay and Gary Nay, and a sister, Darlene Pinkerton.

She is survived by her daughter; Angelique Hartman of Waverly Hall; sons, Curtis Shores of Waverly Hall, Richard Shores of Woodstock, and Alan Frandsen of Waverly Hall; her longtime partner, Albert Grimenstein of Waverly Hall; grandchildren, Savannah Hartman, Zoey Hartman, Joseph Hartman and Skyler Hartman, all of Waverly Hall; a brother, Buzzy Nay of Seattle, WA; and two sisters, Brandi Thompson of Portola, CA and Pam Nay of Nevada.

A memorial service will be held at Melody Lakes Baptist Church at a later date.
