Darlene Catherine Long, 80, of Bremen, GA, passed away July 10, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Darlene was born April 25, 1945, to Jesse and Muriel Long in Staten Island, NY. She grew up in Staten Island alongside her parents and two sisters until the age of ten, when the family moved south to Austell, GA. Darlene attended South Cobb High and earned her high school diploma in 1962.

Ms. Long was a devout Catholic, a member St. Theresa Catholic Church in Douglasville, GA, and played a vital role in the church as a Eucharistic Minister.

She will always be remembered for kind nature and her devotion to God.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents: Jesse and Muriel (McKeever) Long; and her sister: Denise Thiede. She is survived by her children: Charles S. Rush, Jr of Thomaston, GA, Sabrina Rush Lybrand of Woodland, GA, and Shaleigh Rush of Bremen, GA; her grandchildren: Dakota Brown, Amethyst Polk, Colton Rush, Jade Bagley, Shayna Holbrook, and Haley Rogers; her nine great-grandchildren; her sister: Deborah Hart of Cumming, GA; and her favorite dog: Starsky.

A celebration of Ms. Long’s life will be held Monday August11, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 4401 Prestley Mill Rd, Douglasville, GA 30135.
