Mr. Victor Dowdney passed away on Monday September 1^st, 2025, at the age of 68. He was born on August 2^nd, 1957. He was the son of William H. Dowdney and Virginia Carolyn Dowdney Collett.

Victor is preceded in death by his father, William H. Dowdney; two brothers, William K. Dowdney and Steven Jerome Dowdney. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Carolyn Dowdney Collett; his sister-in-law, Rhonda Dowdney; two nieces, Magen Dowdney and Brittany Dowdney; three nephews, Tyler Danford, Jayden Danford and Triston Crowell.

Victor was a lifelong carpenter in Columbus. He also loved playing his drums. He was a good drummer, and he also loved rooting for his Georgia Bulldogs.

Victor had a very special friend, Rita Benford, that shared a big part of his life. Steve Bruebaker was a lifelong friend of Victors from grade school at Morningside School. They played baseball and football together. Victor and his brother Steven played on three Babe Ruth teams in north Columbus.

Instead of flowers, if you wish, you can contribute to your favorite charity or to Kirkland Baptist Church, or to the cancer society.

A memorial service for Victor will be 4:00 pm, Sunday, September 14, 2025, with visitation beginning at 3:00 at Kirkland Memorial Baptist Church, 6304 Lynridge Ave., Columbus, GA with Brother Travis Rigsby officiating.

Georgia Cremation-Columbus has assisted the family with the arrangements.
