David Glenn Cassell

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

David Glenn Cassell, 66, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, with his loving wife, Donna, by his side.

Born on October 16, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia, David was the son of the late Robert Glenn Cassell and Mary Lee Cassell.

David dedicated much of his life to serving others. Over the years, he volunteered with local fire departments, the Red Cross, police reserve units, and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Those who had the privilege of knowing David understood his deep calling to give his time and talents in service to others. Helping people was not simply something he did-it was who he was.

In recent years, David joined the Anglican Order of Preachers and was actively pursuing his theological studies, continuing his lifelong journey of faith, service, and learning.

David is survived by his wife, Donna; her children, Meredith (Wes) Sprinkle and Michael (Jennifer) Anielski; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Zachary (Jenn), and Allison Sprinkle; his siblings, Larry (Karen) Cassell and Lisa (David) Valeka; along with many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date, in accordance with his wishes.

David often said that his life was blessed because he had known each of you.

Georgia Cremation – Columbus is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I am so sorry to hear this. David and I were in High School together and we became what was known as the “clique”. David, Scott Knighton, Pat Cooper, Bill McDowell and myself. Later we were joined by Garland Sorrell. We hung together what seemed like constantly.

David and I reconnected when he was here in the Richmond area managing the campground in New Kent. Unfortunately he wasn’t here long and departed for a new job quickly it seemed.

David was a good soul who was very thoughtful.

My heart aches for his wife, who he spoke about lovingly during our lunch meeting, and his family. His wasn’t and easy beginning in life but he made life better for those whose lives he touched.

    Rest easy my friend.
