Clay Murray Allen, 67, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Columbus, Georgia.
Clay was a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose warmth, humor, and steady presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. A master plumber for more than 30 years, he took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career before retiring. He was known as someone you could count on — hardworking, kindhearted, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Outside of work, Clay found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved softball, spending time at the beach, and had a deep appreciation for his pets and nature. More than anything, he treasured time with his family, especially mentoring and making memories with his grandsons, Jaydon and Remington, whom he loved dearly. His faithful fur baby, Hannah, was also a constant source of companionship and comfort.
Clay is survived by his daughter, Monica Allen Snider; his beloved grandsons, Jaydon and Remington Snider; and his cherished dog, Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Floyce Allen, and his brother, Clint Allen.
Clay will always be remembered for his generous heart, devotion to his family and friends, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday May 14, 2026 at 5 pm with visitation one hour prior at Cox Funeral Home 240 Walton Street, Hamilton, Ga 31811. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Weems Road Animal Hospital.

Monica, I am so sorry!!! I will be praying for you and your children after such a huge loss in your lives! My husband and I have known Clay for maybe 15 years or so. We are his realtors in Panama City Beach. Scott just spoke with him a few days ago and he only said he had a bad diagnosis from his doctor. We’re so sad to hear this! He was such a nice guy and felt more like a friend than a client. He will be missed by many, I’m sure 💕
