Sheri Price

Share

Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.

Sheri Price passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Columbus, Georgia surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Born on May 25, 1943, in Mobile, Alabama, Sheri was the daughter of Edna McClinton and Owen G. Jackson. Her beautiful love story began at just 16 years old when she married the love of her life, Jack Price, in Seale, Alabama. Together they built a marriage that spanned more than 66 devoted years.

Sheri spent her younger years raising her four daughters, later working in the medical field, a role that reflected the caring and compassionate heart she carried throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who poured herself wholeheartedly into the people she loved. As the beloved matriarch of a large and close-knit family, she brought everyone together for holidays, birthdays, celebrations, and countless everyday moments that became treasured memories.

To many, including friends of her grandchildren and even great-grandchildren, she was simply known as “Grandma,” a title she wore with immense pride and joy. Her grandchildren often recalled the way she made their childhoods so special, and those bonds only deepened with time as she remained faithfully invested in each of their lives. Whether through camping trips, thoughtful check-in calls, being the very first to sing “Happy Birthday,” or making sure everyone received a detailed weather report, Sheri had a special way of making each person feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Sheri cherished the simple beauty of country life at her home on “Rabbit Road.” She found joy in tending her garden, caring for the many animals that found a home there, and watching the children  play outside. Down that long rocky driveway, her family says some of life’s sweetest and most treasured memories were made.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jack Price; daughters LeAnne Kennedy (Jeff Kennedy), Lisa Blair (Earl Blair), and Leah Braxton (Mike Braxton); grandchildren Amy Haynes, Todd Kennedy (Megan Kennedy), Lauren Money (Caleb Money), Lindsey Platts (Jake Platts), Abby Lape (Zach Lape), and Lane Braxton; great-grandchildren Brayden Haynes, Lennox Lape, Raine, Rivers, and Rosemary Platts, Fallon Kennedy, and Solomon Money; her sister, Suzy Cook; her aunt, Billie Sue Clements; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Price; daughter, Libby Price and brother, Phil Jackson.

Sheri will forever be remembered for her fierce love, boundless compassion, warm heart, delicious dump cake and cobblers, and the unwavering devotion she showed to her family and friends. Her legacy is one of love, togetherness, and deep family bonds that will continue for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

The family has no memorial service planned at this time,  but ask that you take time to reflect on the special memories that you have with Sheri.

She will be missed for sure. I always loved to run into her and we chit chat. She was always the first person to comment and tell me good morning on this sunny day or rainy day on my Facebook. Love her beautiful family

She was a wonderful lady. Very caring and a fabulous sense of humor. The whole Price family has a very good sense of humor. I think the world of the price family. Loss of good memories when I was younger. I’ve kept in touch with Mr Price through the years especially after moving to Kansas 10 years ago. Mrs.Price will be missed by lots of people. She’s touched so many lives through the years.
