Jeanne Marie Stearns Nardiello, born on November 24, 1928, in Raleigh, North Carolina, lived a life devoted to family, faith, friendship, and service.
She attended St. Mary’s College before marrying Robert Fox Nardiello on March 17, 1950. Together, they built a loving family and shared many years of marriage and cherished memories.
Jeanne’s greatest joy was being a mother and raising her children. She welcomed not only her own children but also the many newcomers who joined the family over the years, embracing each one with warmth, generosity, and love. She is survived by her seven children: Gail Nardiello Vlasek; Patti Nardiello Spedale and her husband, Don; Mike Nardiello; John Nardiello; Steve Nardiello; Carole Nardiello Harris and her husband, Stan; and Thomas J. Nardiello. She is also survived by her brother, Cecil “Joe” Stearns; 23 loving grandchildren; and 20 cherished great-grandchildren, with two more great-grandchildren on the way.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Martha Stearns; her husband, Robert Fox Nardiello; Gail’s husband, Mark Vlasek; Mike’s wife, Rhonda Gantt Nardiello; Steve’s wife, Shayla Beam Nardiello; and her brother, Raymond Stearns.
After retiring from the Southern Company, Jeanne continued her life of service by volunteering at St. Joseph’s Hospital for another 25 years. She spent many years singing in the choir at St. Jude and leading a church circle for working women. Through the Roswell Garden Club, she initiated garden therapy efforts that received numerous awards. Her contributions through service and leadership are far too numerous to list. She also enjoyed playing bridge with the many groups of friends she cherished throughout the years.
Jeanne will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her welcoming spirit, her generosity with her time, and the joy she found in being surrounded by the people she loved. Her legacy lives on in the generations of family she nurtured and in the countless lives she touched through her friendship and service.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandy Springs, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

A funny story Jeaane told at Bridge when she had her job interview with Southern Co. Being in a hurry to be on time she had taken a nap at home & had her high heels there to put on,; but at the interview she looked down & still had her sneakers on. And she got the job anyway.

Jeanne was my aunt. She was always so pleasant. I loved talking to her. I loved the stories she used to tell about my dad and her younger brother when they were growing up. I remember a story my grandmother told me when she and Jeanne had gone to France to visit her mother. They stayed in France for a while. When they got back to the US, Jeanne could speak French very well. Jeanne had a friend over to play one day. The friend told my grandmother that Jeanne “talked funny!” Ha! She will be greatly missed. Keeping her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Jeanne is my mother‘s (Martha Ann) aunt and one of the coolest chicks I know! I will always remember your pretty smile, you’re pretty voice and only you have that voice, your big and caring heart and of course your BIG amazing family! All the fun family reunions, your delicious cooking! Thank you for having me, Nathan, the children, Nathan‘s dad and his uncle Jerry over for supper for yummy beef, stroganoff, and ice cream sundaes for dessert at your big dining room table… You always rocked the white jeans and pretty headbands in your pretty hair. I met Mrs. Nardiello through her visits to Florida to see Gail and her family.
From the first time I met her I was impressed by her. She always presented as such a warm and intelligent person.
