Deborah Stewart Norris Bryan, 74, of Duluth, GA, passed away on June 20, 2023.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 1st at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 4175 Buford Hwy, Duluth, GA (770) 476-1463. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary.
Debbie was born in Trussville, AL to Jody & Katie Stewart on Mother’s Day, May 8th, 1949. She graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1967 and went to Alverson-Draughon Business College in Birmingham, AL where she received a degree in business. Debbie went back to school and in 1995 graduated from Georgia State University with her Bachelor of Science in Business. She started working for Southern Bell while in High School and continued working for Bell companies until her retirement around 2006. She married Raymond Dwight Norris in 1969 and moved to Georgia shortly after. She had 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. In 2018 she married Rob Bryan. Debbie had many friends and was deeply devoted to them along with her family. She was heavily involved with her community and her church, Mt. Tabor Baptist in Duluth, GA. Shopping and cooking for church events were special to her and she loved contributing to the Wednesday night and 5th Sunday dinners. She was able to travel to many places and do things that she had always wanted to do throughout her life. Debbie was quick-witted and her dry sense of humor was among her most wonderful traits.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Jody Stewart, and Katie Lou Stewart Causey.
Debbie is survived by her children: Leigh Anne Warlick (Roger), and Eric Norris (Karen). Sister: Lenicia Lawley. Grandchildren: Carter Norris (fiancé, Christina), Jordan Leone (Matt), Katherine Norris. Great Grandchildren: Nolan Helmick, Colton Helmick, Mia Leone, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Mt Tabor Baptist Church, Duluth, GA, or the Emory ALS Center

Debbie wasn’t necessarily a second mother to me, but she always treated me like part of the family. I moved to GA from MD, and wS befriended by Karen. So I spent quite a bit of time there. Taking care of Carter, shopping, painting the basement, lunches after SumdY church, etc. Debbie was part of my chosen family, and will be missed, but also celebrated. She was a wonderful woman.
