Michael Lynn Harris (63) of Columbus passed away in his sleep on October 18, 2025. Michael had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Michael is survived by his brother Larry (Dawn) of Warm Springs Ga, and 10 nephews and 4 nieces and, of course, his cat Jacks, whom he called his baby. He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace & Geneva Harris, by his brothers Terry and Ralph, sisters Tonya and Linda and his nephew Derrick Olds.

Michael was born in Massachusetts and was the baby of the family. When Michael was two the family moved to Molokai, Hawaii. And when he was 6 they moved to Columbus, Georgia. Mike and Linda became fast friends with the kids on the block and amazingly, all these years later a lot of these friends are still in touch. Mike was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, and his clothing style and room decor style was highly influenced by the Dawgs. Michael loved to travel with his friend Rodney to amusement parks all over Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. He loved to camp out with his longtime friend Carmen and her husband Cody.

Michael had an over 20-year career with Dollar Tree. He loved all of his employees and customers, and they loved him in return. Michael was attending Church regularly and declared his statement of faith. He said he knew that when he passed that he would get to live with Jesus. Michael will truly be missed by many, but we have the blessed assurance that he is in a better place, and he will live on in the hearts of those that love him.

A memorial service will be held Saturday October 25th, 2025, at the chapel of Cox Funeral Home 240 Walton Street, Hamilton, GA at 1:00 pm.
