Randall Vaughn DuFrene, 71, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away December 29 th , 2025, peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Randall was born on April 16, 1954, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Merilee and Naaman DuFrene. The oldest son of four children, he was known to everyone simply as Randy. From a young age, Randy grew up knowing and loving the Lord, a foundation that guided his life and relationships.
Randy never met a stranger. He was truly the life of the party—warm, welcoming, and full of stories and laughter. Over the years, he worked in many roles, including as a fireman, long-haul trucker, and sales associate at Lowe’s and Best Buy, before ending his career at Kysor Warren. No matter the job, Randy brought dedication, humor, and heart to everything he did.
He loved the beach and fishing, but nothing brought him more joy than hopping on his motorcycle and taking a long drive with no destination in mind—just the open road and the freedom he cherished.
Randy married Jynean Culpepper Wolfe, and together they welcomed two daughters, Tara Williams (Scott) and Connie Chastain (Jim). He later married the love of his life, Sharon Blair DuFrene, with whom he shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they had two sons, Camden and Chandler DuFrene. Randy was also a devoted and loving stepfather to Sharon’s daughter, Autumn Jones (Matt). Through his marriage to Sharon, Randy also gained an incredible mother-in-law, Judith Blair, whom he loved deeply and cherished as his own.
Family meant everything to Randy. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a joyful great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense happiness. He also treasured his relationships with his nieces and nephews.
Randy is survived by his beloved wife Sharon, his children Tara (Scott), Connie (Jim), Camden, and Chandler, his stepdaughter Autumn (Matt), his sister Andrea Goldberg (David), his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Naaman and Merilee DuFrene, his brother Fred DuFrene, his sister Deborah Hodges, and his mother-in-law Judith Blair.
Randy will be remembered for his big heart, infectious smile, unwavering love for his family, and the joy he brought into the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
