Akira Nicole Riggins was born December 16, 2012 to parents Brianna Riggins and Sheldon Palmer. She was given the nickname “Joy” by her grandma because she was an absolute joy to be around, know and love.

Akira was a kindergartner at Burch Elementary and a member of the Children’s Ministry at Harvest Rain Church International. Her favorite holidays were Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Halloween. She enjoyed spending her time swimming, going to the beach and playing in the sand, and playing Minecraft with her aunt Shannan. Akira loved watching videos on YouTube, her favorites were FGTeeV and Ryan’s Toy Review.

Akira answered the Lord’s call on May 24, 2019. She was preceded in death by her Great-grandmothers Avaline Davis and Pauline Birdsong.

Akira leaves cherishing and celebrating her memory; Her parents Brianna Riggins and Sheldon Palmer, Her grandparents Lisa Slocumb and Norman Riggins, and Tina and Charles Palmer, Her aunts Shannan Riggins and Shannea Palmer, her uncle Al-Kareem Smith, her cousins Martinez Septembre Jr, Amarye Palmer, Daveyon Palmer and a host of other family members that she loved.
