Amelia “Gail” Swinks King Hill, 68, of Snellville, GA died March 19, 2017. Gail was a professional mom, grandmommy, sister, cat-attractor, friend and grocery shopper who dedicated her life to the care of others. She was an avid gardener, cook, and artist. A driver since the age of 16, Gail managed to never get even one speeding ticket. It is quite possible that she never told a lie. . . at least not one that wasn’t blatantly obvious. We will always honor her memory on her birthday by not exceeding the speed limit, not making a left hand turn without an arrow, and eating a Whopper Jr. followed by a Snickers.
Gail is survived by a multitude of loving family, including: daughter, Monti Staton (Stewart) and granddaughter, Zoe Staton of Stone Mountain, GA; son, Wesley Troy King (Sheryl) of McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Daniel King (NC), Maddie King (NC), Jonah King (NC) and Dawson Babischkin (GA). Other relatives include her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Dennis Ferguson; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Ann Swinks; aunt, Louise Strickland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gail was preceded in death by her mother, Ann LaDell Swinks Chewning in 2015. In lieu of flowers, her family requests small donations be made in Gail’s memory to FSH Muscular Dystrophy Society 781-301-6060 www.fshsociety.org or American Lung Association 800.LUNGUSA www.lung.org. The was assisted by Georgia Cremation 3570 Buford HWY, Suite #202, Duluth, GA 30096. Messages of condolence can be shared at www.GeorgiaCremation.com .
