Andrew Leonard Simons was born February 26, 1933 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Fannie Mae Simons and Walter Leonard Simons He was a quiet and simple man and often kept to himself, except in his younger days, he would be the one to get his brother’s out of trouble. He was drafted into the United States Army and served in Germany during the Korean War. After his discharge, he went to work with Loomis Industries before taking a position as a welder for L & N Railroad. Mr. Simons was quite the history buff, especially Civil War history. He enjoyed photography, both stills and reel movies. He was proud of his yard work and loved to shop when he could. His biggest passion was raising his two wonderful children.
