Ms. Anne Louise Henry, age 75, of Detroit, passed away on September 10, 2018.
Ms. Henry was born on July 21, 1943 in West Point, GA to the late Robert and Anne Mae Carlton. She grew up in Lanett, AL where she graduated from high school. Ms. Henry attended college at Kentucky State University for one year before moving to Michigan where she earned her Master’s Degree in Radiation and Oncology from Mercer University.
Ms. Henry had an impressive 40 year-long career at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn as the Director of Radiation and Oncology. She was a long-time member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, where she was an active member of the church’s Relay for Life, Ministry for Women, Sorosis Guild, Group 19 and Church Women United and Hospitality.
She was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading and traveling. She was involved with multiple social groups and liked to get out and “mall walk.” She was a wine connoisseur. She cherished for friends and family and in turn, was cherished by them.
Ms. Henry is survived by her beloved sons: Martin Henry of Stockbridge and Jason Henry of Fairburn; sisters: Corinthian Woody of Lanett, AL, Betty Robinson of South Field, MI and Benita Glass of Atlanta; brother: Alden Lopez of Detroit; grandchildren: Skye Henry and Nyhjae Norfleet.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Ms. Henry’s honor at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Ms. Henry’s honor.
