Let the family know you care by sharing this tribute.
Avril Rita Brotherson, was born in Georgetown Guyana, South America to parents, Yvonne Haynes and Hamed Mohammed. As the eldest of that union Avril provided loving, nurturing support and was a caretaker to her younger siblings. She consistently gave of herself to others.
Avril’s first marriage to Brenton Pinkerton, produced five children, Leslie, Sean, Staci, Sonnette and Shawndell. Avril adored her children and dedicated herself to her children and family.
Avril married the love of her life Andrew Brotherson on August 12, 1999. As a military man, their life together took them on many adventures that they always faced as a unit. They resided at Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma for many years until Andrew’s retirement in January 2015. Andrew and Avril or “AV” as she was affectionately called, always put each other first. Andrew a committed and dedicated husband, always brought joy to his wife’s heart.
Avril’s love language was food. She shared her love, by cooking and creating dishes that she loved to share with others. Many times you could find Av in her kitchen singing along to her favorite songs as she prepared a meal. If you were lucky enough to be in her kitchen, enjoying one of those meals, you also knew not to leave her sink wet and if you didn’t know that, she would most definitely let you know. Then she’d take out a big plate of food for you.
Av was an open hearted, forgiving and God fearing woman. She was a member of the Sonlife Broadcasting Network Ministries. She served God faithfully. She was also an awesome listener, she was always saying something to motivate the people in her life. Trust God or God is in control, you’d hear her say to uplift those around her. Avril could sternly correct you and love up on you all in the same breath. What a joy to be around. Her voice and words of encouragement will be missed, but the love and joy she gave to others will never be forgotten. Avril Rita Brotherson will love on in our hearts always.
Avril would always say what shines on the inside, shines on the outside, and Avril’s light will continue to shine in those she has left behind.
Avril is survived by her loving husband Andrew Brotherson, her son Leslie Pinkerton and his wife Kerry-Ann Pinkerton, her son Sean Pinkerton and his partner Elizabeth Codd, her daughter Staci Pinkerton and her partner Sean Stewart, her daughter Sonnette Carney and her husband Mustafa Carney, and her daughter Shawndell Pinkerton and her fiancé June Jeudy, her grand children Natasha Rose, Anthony Pinkerton Jr., Sean Anthony Jr., Isaiah Pinkerton, Shawndell Pinkerton, Sean Pinkerton III, Amari Alves, Janiah Pinkerton, Jayla Pinkerton, Jurnee Skye Jeudy, and Christian Dior Pinkerton, her siblings, her nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins and a multitude of family members that will miss her.
The Brotherson family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 1086 Hwy 54 West, Fayetteville. Messages of condolence may be left at www.GeorgiaCremation.com.
