Ms. Barbara Denise Rice Lee, age 67, of Hampton, passed away on April 16, 2018 after a brave year-long battle with liver disease. She also courageously fought and beat the lung cancer during this past year.

Ms. Lee was born in Mount Clemens, MI on June 15, 1950 to the late Leo Rice and Virginia Capers. She grew up in New Haven, MI alongside her 2 sisters. She was known as a feisty fireball. She was loving and full of life. She was independent, funny, creative and crafty. Ms. Lee had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and growing her flowers. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Ms. Lee was preceded in death by her daughter: Tonya Lee; sister: Susan White; grandson: Christopher Richardson. Ms. Lee is survived by her children: Anthony Lee of Detroit, MI, Rebecca (Kevin) Flemming of Detroit, MI,  Billie Lee of Mount Clemens, MI, Justin Lee of Detroit, MI, Mahogany Lee of Detroit, MI, and Kieshanna Lee of Hampton, GA; grandchildren: Bradley, Perry, Joseph, Jeremiah, Zion, Zachary, Kevin Jr., Joshua, Taylor, Lamaya, Justin Jr., Aaron, Kayden, Koen, Mya and Michael; great-grandchildren: Tristan, McKenna, Cau’lel and Rebecca sister: Paula Jenkins of Detroit, MI; loving canine companion: Bear the Yorkshire Terrier.

A memorial service will be held in Ms. Lee’s honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Lee family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 1086 Highway 54 West, Fayetteville.
