Barbara Lester Simpson, age 77, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on March 2, 2026. Born on September 6, 1948, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Branham Lester.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Pat Faulkner. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Simpson; her son, Matthew Simpson; and her brother, Ronald “Bo” Lester of Knoxville, TN.

A resident of Lilburn, Georgia, and a longtime resident of Jonesboro, Georgia, Barbara dedicated 20 years to Georgia Power, where she held various positions atseveral locations. She was an avid enthusiast of antiques and collectibles and cherished her trips to the Smoky Mountains.

Barbara’s ashes will be interred at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro, where she will be laid to rest next to her son, Pat.

Georgia Cremation in Duluth is assisting the family with arrangements.
