Mrs. Bonnie Kay Dixson, age 83, of Fayetteville, passed away April 9, 2026. Bonnie was born in Anderson, Indiana, on February 24, 1942, to the late Chester Grimes and Avanella Carraway, along with her four siblings. 

She met and married the love of her life, Donald Dixson, in 1961, and the two enjoyed nearly 64 years of love and companionship. Not only did they build a beautiful life together, they were also blessed to raise two children. Later, they had the privilege of having three grandsons and two great-granddaughters. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester Grimes and Avanella Carraway, as well as her maternal granddad, whom she was very close to. 

She is survived by her husband, Donald Dixson; her siblings: Karen Debolt, Judy Wallace, Jane Dunn, and Martin Grimes; her son, Jeffery Brent Dixson; her daughter, Angela Pirtle; her three grandsons, and her two great-granddaughters. 

Memorial Services for Bonnie will be held at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, GA  on May 9, 2026 from 3 to 4 p.m., with a visitation and potluck to follow from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The family requests visitors bring what they can, though BBQ, potato salad, coleslaw, and mac & cheese have already been spoken for.
