Bonnie Dean Goddard Gardner, age 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Jackson, Georgia on June 21, 2020. She was born October 8th,1950 along with her twin sister Donnie, to Willam Thomas (WT) and Louise Goddard. She came from a large, loving family. They lived in Stone Mountain, GA. Although Bonnie moved around and made great friends wherever she went, she always considered Stone Mountain home.
Bonnie, also known as “Mom” and “Granny Bonnie,” is survived by her children: Valerie and Randall Clark, Tina and Jeff Stone, Captain Robert Bryan and April Hicks; grandchildren: Brittany, Tiffany, Andria, Ansley, Aiden, Avry, Katie, Emma and Logan; great-grandchildren: Michelle, Bella, Lily, Eli and Jonah; siblings: twin sister Donnie, Barbara, Paulette, Carol, Ann and Bobby.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents: WT and Louise Goddard; her husband: John Gardner; Brother: Ted; Sister: Susie; and several other family members. I am sure they were all waiting at the Gates of Heaven to welcome her in! She was a Woman of God! She knew God was going to heal her either here on Earth or in Heaven. To anyone that knew Bonnie, there is no doubt she is in Heaven enjoying her riches.
Bonnie loved God, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brother, church families, Stone Mountain classmates, friends and too many nieces and nephews to count. She was definitely her kids, grands and great-grands biggest fan!! She always had an encouraging word and a smile for everyone! If you had the pleasure of meeting Bonnie, you are better for having known her. She could talk for hours about God or herbs and gardening or many other subjects. She was an avid reader and we estimate she had at least 5,000 books.
Bonnie is loved and missed by all who knew her.
Her family will have a Celebration of Life on July 31st from 1pm-3pm at Bonnie’s home church, Rock Springs Church, 219 Rock Springs Rd, Milner, GA 30257. We welcome and hope to hear lots of great stories about Bonnie’s life!!
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rock Springs Church (770-229-8663) in Bonnie’s name.

I reconnected with Bonnie after 35 years being in Washington State. We hooked up on facebook. She was an inspiration and set an example that is hard to follow. Not many people can be as real, kind, giving, and optimistic as she was. We will all miss you Bonnie!

Bonnie was the sweetest, Godly woman I’ve been blessed to know. I remember at Stone Mountain Elementary playing red rover and kick ball. She always had a smile and so bubbly. I was able to become a Facebook friend in the last few years. It was so good to see her at our 50th class reunion. Fly high sweet Bonnie. You will be greatly missed.

Me Instead of a first cousin growing up, we lived very close, her family’s house burnt down When she was about 6 and we all lived together for several months in our lil 6 room house, she was the kindest person I ever knew, She will be missed tremendously, my prayers to the family for their huge loss, she is with our Lord in a much better place!!

Saddened at having learned of Bonnie’s passing. I’m glad I was able to meet her, spend time with her and at having had a chance to get to know her in 2008-9. I still consider Donnie and Ann to be friends of mine. Note for Donnie and Ann: Gary Hughes, musician and studio operator in the Conyers area passed away a few years ago. Heart failure. Did recording with Donnie and Ann.) ~

There was never a more kind soul than Granny Bonnie. She was always so sweet and encouraging. We stayed connected through Facebook, in between the kiddos birthday parties and special events. I’m blessed to have had the privilege to have known her. With the love of the Lord she spread, there’s no doubt she is dancing in heaven! 😇 ❤️

I worked with Ms. Bonnie years ago. She was an amazing person!! She knew so much stuff about plants and bees and random things. She has told me about all her family and boyfriends and parents and growing up and her dog and….. needless to say, she was a talker. Lol I had so much respect for her! Her work ethic, her motivation, her insight, her dedication, and her enthusiasm and the fact that she didn’t take anything for granted. She was a great woman and I could go on forever about how awesome she is!!!! I will always remember her! She would contact me and thank me every year for something I did almost 10 years ago. She is one superb woman!! I’m so sad I didn’t know she passed.
I love you ms. Bonnie! I hope you have your bee farm wherever you are!! Make sure you send me some honey! Lol kisses and hugs. I know you’re still here with us. You’re too good of a woman to not continue to warm peoples hearts, even though you’re not here physically. ❤️❤️
I love you
