Carmen Milagros Aviles Massey died Sunday, June 18, 20023 at the Columbus Hospice House after a long struggle with dementia. She was the daughter of Emilio Romero Aviles and Noelia Morales Aviles, born September 27, 1957. She met her husband-to-be, William Alan Massey, at the Baptist Student Union at Columbus College and married on January 22, 1982. Her parents predeceased her. She is survived by her son William Emilio Marcus Massey, her sister Lourdes Aviles, and brother Nelson Aviles. A joint memorial service will be held for her and her husband Alan at Morningside Baptist Church on July 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM.

Her family wishes to thank the devoted care given her at the Columbus Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her memory made to Columbus Hospice or Morningside Baptist Church.
