Carole Joyce Johnson, 64, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on January 1, 2025, surrounded by nothing but love.
Carole was born on December 19, 1960, in Dover, Ohio. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and best friend who brought joy and laughter to everyone she encountered. Known for her vibrant personality and unwavering support for her family, she was the anchor of their lives and a source of endless love and humor. Carole had a passion for traveling, attending concerts, enjoying the beach, watching her boys play ball, and spending cherished moments with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Quinn Johnson; her mother, Joyce Ruof; fathers Herbert Kreiter and Frank Moliski; stepfather Curtis “Kelly” Ruof; sister Debbie Jo Kreiter; brother Ricky Kreiter, and her Jebbers.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Ashley Quinn Wombles; her son Scott Michael Johnson (Noy); her five grandsons: James Michael Quinn Johnson (Amanda), Colton Lee Wombles, Matthew Gearld Johnson, Ayden Quinn Wombles, and Liam Cole Wombles; and her great-grandson Rowan James Johnson. She is also survived by her sister Kathy Lenarz and her best friend Charmin Starling. Carole’s love extended far beyond her immediate family to include nieces and nephews, neighborhood children, and anyone her children loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST at The Crawford Community Center, located at 5 Hwy 169 South in Phenix City, Alabama. The gathering will be informal with refreshments provided as family and friends come together to honor Carole’s memory.
Carole’s warmth and spirit touched countless lives. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
