Carol was born on May 20, 1932, in Tift County, Georgia, and enjoyed a life on the farm during her childhood. She shared countless childhood memories with a large family which included 13 siblings.
Carol later found her calling in service to others as a nurse for the Red Cross and St. Francis hospital. She would later serve as the Administrator of the Oak and Pine Manor Nursing and Rehab facilities in Columbus.
Her unwavering dedication and empathy touched the hearts of those that were lucky enough to know her. Her nurturing spirit was a reflection of the love and kindness she shared with so many. As a caregiver, mentor, supervisor, mom, friend, and Memaw, Carol made a lasting impact on her friends, colleagues, and family that many will carry on in her honor.
Carol is survived by her children: Mitch, Bob, David, and Melissa; her seven grandchildren: Kristin, Victoria (Terry), Derek (Alee), Dylan, Donnie, Nathan (Hannah), and Chris (Amy); and numerous great-grandchildren all of whom will miss her greatly. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald Nahley, who has been waiting for Carol to join him on their next adventure since December 25, 2020.
There will be a celebration of life for Carol and Don Nahley on Saturday, June 8th at 2pm in the UUFC Fellowship Hall at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Columbus, 8827 Heiferhorn Way.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that those who wish to honor her, make donations to Columbus Hospice in her name.
The Nahley Family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 7500 Veterans Parkway, Suite A, Columbus, Georgia 31909, 706-577-0055.
