Charles Raymond Latimer
March 20, 1961 – March 23, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Raymond Latimer, who entered eternal rest on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 65.
Charles was born in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Garfield and Sammie (Williams) Latimer. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to those who knew him.
A proud graduate of Hardaway High School, Class of 1979, Charles was actively involved in track, wrestling, and the band. Following high school, he briefly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Missile Mechanic.
Charles had a deep love for music. He enjoyed singing and was a gifted, self-taught musician who learned to play several instruments, including the trumpet and guitar. His passion for music was a defining part of his life and spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Sammie Latimer.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory his two sisters, Cevilla Randle (Kenneth) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Ceceila Bridges Brown (Chuck) of Accokeek, Maryland; three nieces, Cyrena Sylveria, Sheena Pigford (Dallas), and Crystal Bridges; two great-nieces, Aubrie Landrum and Mykyla Masbad; along with a loving extended family of aunts, cousins, and a host of dear friends.
At this time, the family has not announced memorial service details.
