Charles Thompson “Tommy” Mealor, Jr., age 60, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully in his home on April 23, 2020 surrounded by his Wife and Children after a short battle with cancer.
Tommy was born in Gainesville, Ga on February 7, 1960 to Elizabeth Sheridan and the late Charles T. Mealor, Sr. He grew up in Gainesville and attended Johnson High School. He held several job titles throughout his life from being a Head Chef at the Ritz Carlton Atlanta, Ga in his early 20’s to following his passion and working as Quality Control in the Agriculture Food Industry. In the 90’s Tommy had a desire to further his education and career in Management so
he attended college at the University of Georgia where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Poultry Science. He continued his career in Quality Management until his retirement in 2017.
Tommy was preceded in death by his Daddy, Charles T. Mealor, Sr., maternal grandparents Garney and Viola Sheridan, paternal grandparents CT and Ennis Mealor and his Niece Juliet Finch.
He is survived by his Wife Marisol Mealor, 3 sons Charles Thompson Mealor, III., Jesus Alfonso Meza, Fernando Meza and 1 Granddaughter Sofia Renee Mealor. He is also survived by his Mother Elizabeth Sheridan, his sisters Suzanne Barber, Nancy (Steve) Adamczyk, Billie Jo (Doug) FitzHenry and 3 brothers William Joseph “Joey” Mealor, Greggory Charles Mealor, Jeff Mealor, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.
Tommy was intelligent, loving, funny, kind hearted and cared deeply for his family and friends. He was a hard worker and succeeded in life but his greatest achievement and love was his beautiful Wife, 3 Sons and his granddaughter. He will forever be in our hearts. He was loved dearly and we will miss him greatly but our comfort comes in knowing he is resting in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at a later date due to the current national health crisis and travel restrictions.
The Mealor Family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 7500 Veterans Parkway, Suite A, Columbus, Georgia 31909, 706-577-0055. The family invites you to leave a condolence or share a fond memory of Mr. Tommy below.
