Chris Foreman, age 64, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on July 17, 2021 while surrounded by his closest loved ones. He was born May 24, 1957 in Dawson, Georgia and was a member of the Kendrick High class of 1975. Chris loved his children dearly and built a legacy of hard work through his passion for people and their cars at Foreman Brake & Powertrain. He was incredible at his job and was one of the best driveline specialists in Columbus with an amazing wealth of knowledge. Chris was one of the go-to guys in his industry … if all else fails, “call Chris!”
Chris was a spunky redhead that loved football (Go Dawgs and Wreck ‘Em Tech!), baseball (Go Braves!), and racing. He always referred to himself as somewhat of a hybrid – “an intelligent redneck; a country boy mixed with a city slicker.” He was a huge Jeopardy fan and often knew most of the answers. He was always told he should go on the show. He also liked to torture his children with the History Channel and the movie, “The Last of the Mohicans.” Chris loved all the new technology and loved having the “latest and greatest” gadgets.
Chris always loved going for a ride and could spend the day on a ride out to “the country,” home of his family in Webster county. He was a great storyteller and loved to reminisce about the times he spent in his youth running around with his cousins who were more like siblings.
Chris was blessed to share his life for the last 12 years with his “girl Friday” Pam Dune. He would often tell people that she was the nicest person on this planet. Everyone could attest to the fact that she made him want to be a better person. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Newton and Agnes Foreman; his maternal grandparents, Max and Irene Alston; and his father, Kenneth Foreman. Chris is survived by the greatest love of his life, Pam Dune; mother, Maxine Foreman; sons Brian Foreman and Tim Foreman; daughter Jennifer Thrower (David); grandchildren, Aiden Lytle, Kaley Foreman, and Harper Foreman; sisters Rachel Tucker (Jerry) and Cathy Foreman; several nieces and nephews; his fur grandbabies, Buddy, Dian, Piza, Prince, and Pepper; and many beloved family and friends.
The family will be receiving guests on Saturday, July 24th at 2pm Eastern Time at Christ Community Church located at 4078 Milgen Road, Columbus, GA 31907. There will be a memorial service to follow at 3pm at the same location. As Chris was never a fan of “monkey suits”, please come as you are in casual dress.
In lieu of flowers, at Chris’ request, the family has setup a memorial fund in his name for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To donate you can visit: https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/GiftFunds?px=7121473&pg=personal&fr_id=39300 or mail a donation to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The Foreman family is being assisted by Georgia Cremation, 7500 Veterans Parkway, Suite A, Columbus, GA 31909, 706-577-0055. The family invites you to leave a condolence or share a fond memory of Mr. Chris below.

Many great memories with Chris aka. Mr Foreman. He took me and boys to the lake numerous times. He taught me how to ski, tube and work on certain parts of cars that I never fixed before. I was best friends with his son for many years and always looked up to him. He will never be forgotten and always remembered with smiles. Thank you Chris for being a great part of my childhood.

I first met Chris at his father’s shop off Hamilton rd. in the old “canteen hanger”. Great family owned business! Chris will be missed by many that patronized his business and those that depended on his mechanical knowledge. He was a friend and I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you Pam and the family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my old friend & school mate Chris. Chris & I were friends from elementary school at Eastway through our senior year at Kendrick. Even though I moved away from Columbus in 1981 we have always remained friends. When you lose someone you have known for that long I think a little piece of yourself is lost with them. Thanks for the memories old friend. It’s been quite a party

Chris was a long time dear friend to us. We have many fond memories of times spent together, personally and in business. He had a wonderfully alive spirit, very passionate, well spoken in his thoughts and opinions. We spent many moments commiserating over life, families, joys and sorrows. Many times were spent at Cuco’s enjoying a drink and meal in warm companionship. We miss him very much. Our deepest sympathy to your family for your loss.
Know that his spirit he shared with us all will endure in our lives and memories.

I am so glad I had the opportunity of getting to know this wonderful man for the past 7 years. It was always a highlight of my day when I visited Columbus and made my sales calls. He was always a joy to talk with and listen too and always had a story. He made me feel like I had known him all my life. I will miss him dearly. Pam, Jennifer, Brian and Tim, I pray that God’s blessings will be with each and everyone of you in the coming days and that he will bring you peace and comfort. God Bless!

I met Chris after selling him a new driveline machine. I flew to GA to train him on the equipment. We were nearly the same age and had a lot in common with our love of music and the parts industry. I was there a day or so after SRV was killed in WI. We both mourned the loss. Say hello to Stevie, Chris!
