On December 25, 2021, our Lord called home his servant Clara May (Hubert) Grzesiakowski. Born January 5, 1932, Clara was well known to many for her generous, giving heart, and for her love of family. Clara spent her life in service of others, volunteering at her children’s schools, as well as for many scout troops, youth groups, sports teams, and churches.
Clara joined the US Air Force out of high school, where she served as a nurse. This is also where she met her late husband, Stanley Grzesiakowski, and together they raised their 6 children in Jackson, MI.
In 2016, Clara moved in with her daughter & son-in-law, Caryn & Mark, in Fayetteville, GA. Her days were filled with much joy, laughter, and a wonderful quality of life, until sadly, on Christmas Day, she died peacefully at home in her sleep.
Clara is preceded in death by Stanley, as well as their eldest son, Michael. She is survived by daughter Cheryl (DesMontaignes), daughter & son-in-law Connie & Graham (McKenna), son Matthew, daughter & son-in-law Caryn & Mark (Trettel) and son Mark, as well as 14 grandchildren & step-grandchildren, & 3 great-grandchildren.
Clara’s celebration of life will be held on Friday September 16, 2022, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, MI 48430. Visitation to be held from 10 AM, with a mass to follow at 11 AM. The family cordially invites you to stay after the mass to enjoy the Apple Festival at the Church, one of Clara’s favorite events, and then join them at the fish supper at 4 PM.
If you are unable to attend the service in person, please join us through a live stream at https://youtu.be/ntaA8XP-bj8 .
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Elementary School, Jackson, MI, or Lumen Christi High School, in Clara’s name would be appreciated. Any queries, please email conniecandles3@yahoo.com.
