Sleep well my friend, eat more rice balls, see you soon…

I knew Arden very well. I was stationed with him at both Guam and Homestead AFB. We were on the beach in Guam together when we both noticed an attractive young woman walking alone. Since we both wanted to introduce ourselves to her we decided to flip a coin to decide who had first “dibs”. I won the coin toss and earned the position of first to meet her. About a year later I married her. I think Arden rigged the coin toss.

I knew about Arden through Peg Shepherd who has since passed away. She was transformed by the teachings that she learned from Arden and prized him and his friendship. She visited him up until her death, bringing him special foods that he liked that were ones he desired from his knowledge of nutrition. He knew so much about healing the body too. And he had a history of helping so many people. Condolences to his family and thanks to Arden for his years of military service and for the people he helped.

I first met Arden in Atlanta at Chiropractic College in the 1980’s. He was my mentor, my friend and my confidant. He had healing hands and a heart of gold. If anyone knows about his last few years, please contact me at timandgracereischman@gmail.com. Blessings, Dr. Tim Reischman

I really appreciate the kind words and memories shared from those of you who walked with my father. Hearing your stories helps me feel more connected to him and is always a gift. I realize there are probably questions for many of you and if you would like to bring closure to that curiosity I’m always available to share.

Hi Kristean,
I am so sorry to be reading this news of your father’s passing. I knew Arden in the mid-90’s, such a wonderfully kind and loving man. I arrived in Atlanta last night, & searched this morning to see if Arden was still in town. I am shocked to have read this news. I would very much like to talk with you, if you are open to that at this point.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Take care.
Warmly,
Betty

Kristean,
My name is Tom. I knew Arden in chiropractic school. I was about a year and a half
time wise ahead of Arden. He was such a good man. Everybody that knew him admired him.
I know this is several years after his passing and I apologize. When did my friend pass away and what caused his passing?
Lori Howard says
I knew Arden in Atlanta from 1990-1998 when he was in Buckhead. I was in college and worked for Le Sub sandwich shop where he got lunch at times. He would park his silver, first year production 1990 Harley Fat Boy out front. The first time I saw the brand new, wicked Harley model, and the owner, with his smile, perfectly braided pony tail, beautiful tanned skin, bright white teeth and leather biker gear- I was smitten! I always made his veggie pita with the cheese in the center, and he would request for me to make them when he came in. That kind of annoyed my boss, Charley, but he thought it was funny, me being smitten by this ‘hippy’ Vietnam Veteran who swore to never eat meat or cut his hair, unless we went back to war, which we did. We watched him eat a mix-meat gyro one day. He would hang out and teach his healthy lifestyle, nutrition and tell stories. I ended up saving enough to go to the ‘fancy’ Joseph’s Salon for an ‘Arden Integration, a natural body therapy’ session for my hip and back problems. I was so intimidated and nervous! I fell asleep during the massage. I still have his day glow orange discount flyer in a photo album. (I have more photo albums than anyone I know)
I remember he dropped the bike in the Phipps Plaza parking garage just after they had just polished it. He was so angry! I’d see him outside Arden’s Garden Juice Café, and stop to chat and drink green juices. (they must have done well, as I buy their juices in my St. Petersburg, FL Publix Grocery) I wish I could remember all the health tips and stories he told me of adventures he had. I still have a frame with a collage for several photos, I’ve never changed the pics, it is on my wall now. He was the only person I invited to my college graduation, that actually came and my parents took a photo of us afterwards, it’s in the frame from 1992.
I recall the ‘tree house’ as I called it, that I think he rented in Buckhead, and his inversion ceiling thingy, a medal from the war and giving him my white wool Flokati rug, the favorite “pricey” thing I owned at the time. I admired him so much. I think I recall him mentioning a daughter, but I’m not sure. I remember he moved out of town to a suburb of Atlanta, maybe Duluth, and we lost contact. I looked online for years and could only find a review he wrote for a health product. Then, decades later, his obituary. Man I cried, how could he be so healthy and die so young? My father died at 58 later on, but he wasn’t very healthy at all. Please let me know what happened, if possible. Thank you, Lori Howard, lhoward111@gmail.com
