Inez Yates Dale, 90, formerly of Indianola, MS, died at Park Place Nursing and Rehab in Monroe, GA, on March 3, 2016.
Ms. Dale was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi on May 29, 1925. She was the only child of Isaac Delbert Yates and Willie Murphy Magdalene Duke. She moved to Indianola in 1952, where she lived until moving to Lanier Gardens Retirement Community in Athens, GA, in 2005.
She attended Morgan City/Leflore County High School and graduated from Sunflower County High School in Moorhead. She attended Sunflower County Junior College and taught school at Gooden Lake and Roundaway before moving to Memphis, where she met her husband, Jackson Mayes Dale. She was employed by Lewis Grocer/Supervalu in Indianola for 39 years in the Advertising and Accounting departments. She was a very active member of Indianola First Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School and Training Union, led the Sword Drill Instruction and was on the Lord’s Supper Committee. She’s been a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church in Athens, GA, since 2005. She was an avid quilter for many years before the failure of her eyesight.
Ms. Dale was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Lynwood Earl Dale and Patrick Lee Dale, and two grandsons, Lynnwood Earl Dale, II and Christian Lee Dale. She is survived by daughter, Nancy Beadle(Harry) of Monroe, GA; granddaughter, Kimberly Carmack (Nat) of Athens, GA; granddaughter, Erin Roncali of Greenville, MS; grandson, Dustin Dale of Greenville, MS; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Indianola First Baptist Church on Monday, March 7 at 11:00 A.M., with visitation for family and friends at 10:00 A.M. There will be a private family burial of her remains in City Cemetery.
