David Edward “Peter” Watford, age 77 of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his home on February 25, 2021.

David was born in Atmore, Alabama on May 9, 1943 to Carl and Audrey Watford. He served in the Army from 1968-1971.  He later went on to graduate from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a civil engineer degree in 1982.  David worked as a Roads and Traffic Engineer for the City of Atlanta until he retired in 2009.

David enjoyed traveling, reading and watching western movies, especially anything with John Wayne.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Donny Watford, Billy Watford and Kathy Gaffney.

He is survived by his wife, Gaile Watford; son Taft Brown and wife Kristen and grandchildren Ansley, Cooper, Perry Campbell and Reese; son David Watford and wife Kristen and grandchildren John David, Madison and Thatcher; and daughter Missy Palcic and husband Jason and grandchild Gena.  

Burial of ashes will occur Friday March 12th at 2:00pm at Huxford Community of Christ, 926 Burlington Street, Huxford, Alabama 36502. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
