David George Lewis, age 76, of Jonesboro, GA, formerly of Houston, PA, passed away June 23, 2021.
Mr. Lewis was born on November 12, 1944 in Pittsburg, PA to the late Owen and Evelyn Lewis. He grew up in Houston, PA where he attended Chartiers High School. He worked at a steel mill for a time before beginning his longtime career with Nabisco. In 1979 Mr. Lewis transferred Nabisco’s Georgia location. Mr. Lewis was wed to Joan Lewis on June 28, 2000. The couple settled in Jonesboro, Georgia, where Mr. Lewis spent the remainder of his life.
Mr. Lewis was a fisherman and an avid gardener. He grew many vegetables, which he canned and shared with his neighbors. He grew grapes to make homemade wine and made his own whiskey as well. He had a knack for electrical work and could fix just about anything. Mr. Lewis was truly a jack-of-all-trades. He was a great man who could make friends with anyone. He had a heart for animals, particularly the dogs and cats he had over the years. Mr. Lewis will be dearly missed by his beloved wife and many friends.
Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joan Ann Lewis of Jonesboro, GA; son, Darren Lewis of Houston, PA; step-son, Gregory Heisler; step-daughter, Jessica Cesca; and three grandchildren, Evan and Gabby Heisler, and Andrew Cesca.
