Mr. Derald Lee Casavant, age 73, of Fayetteville, passed away February 11, 2020.
Mr. Casavant was born in Honolulu, HI on May 21, 1946 to the late Paul and Martha Casavant. He spent his early years in Hawaii where he graduated from high school. Mr. Casavant went on to attend the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree. He then spent several years living in Orlando, FL while working for Eastern Airlines. Mr. Casavant relocated to Atlanta where he had a longtime career with the Federal Aviation Administration.
Mr. Casavant was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid gun collector and an enthusiast of firearms, new and old. He enjoyed target shooting and taking special care of his antique weapons. He was a kind and gentle man. Mr. Casavant was reserved and enjoyed his quiet lifestyle. He spent the last 37 years of his life in Fayetteville, GA.
Mr. Casavant is survived by his half-sister: Peggy Hely of Fort Myers, FL; step-mother: Blanche Casavant of Cocoa Beach, FL; neighbor and friend: Judy White of Thomaston, GA.
