Edward Joseph Rutkowski, 81, of Dunwoody, Georgia, passed away peacefully with his loving wife Jane by his side on January 27, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Ed was born on March 30, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York.

Ed grew up in Queens and attended St. John’s University for both his undergraduate degree as well as his MBA. After serving in the US Marines, Ed embarked on a career with Citibank in the corporate banking department, ultimately relocating to Atlanta, Georgia. He continued his career at Bank of America and quickly became a much-respected executive in his field.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jane as well as his children Michael Rutkowski, Amy (Drew) Holzapfel, P.J. (Tracy) Rutkowski, Lauren (Michael) Campbell; and 6 grandchildren,  Riley, Jake, Charlotte, Madeline, Will and Ryan.

Ed loved spending his time cooking gourmet meals, traveling the globe, and playing golf, most fondly,  his countless rounds at Augusta National. He was an avid fan of St. John’s University men’s basketball. Known for his sense of humor, kindness and love for his family, Ed brought joy to everyone who knew him. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 10:00AM at Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandy Springs.
