Elaine King Harris, 87, passed away September the 26th,2024 in Columbus, Georgia. Elaine was born in Frisco City, Alabama, on February 27th, 1937, daughter of Curtis and Willie King. She graduated from Frisco City High, where she was a majorette in the marching band. Elaine married Howard Wilburn Ward in 1956 and moved to Columbus. She worked at Pascoe Steel in the accounting department until leaving to raise her family. After Howard’s death in 1994, she met and married James Dixie Harris. They enjoyed 22 years of marriage until his death in 2020.

Elaine is survived by three sons, Kevin Ward and his wife Sherry, Michael Ward, Eric Ward and his wife Teri; grandchildren, Zachary Ward and his wife Sophie, Austin Ward, Callie Young and husband Mike, Lindsey Ward; and great grandchild Lucy Young, Ryder Langley and Mayli Langley . She loved flowers, gospel music, reading her Bible and cooking for her family. Elaine was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church.

The family will be holding a private service at a later date.
